Privacy

This policy covers deepfriedmobile.com. Every other site publishes its own privacy policy, because each one handles different data. This page does not speak for them.

The short version

This website has no accounts, no forms, no shopping cart, no cookies, no analytics and no advertising or tracking scripts. It loads nothing from any other company — the fonts and stylesheets are served from this domain. If you read this site and do not email us, we do not learn who you are.

What is collected

Server logs. Like any web server, ours records each request: the IP address it came from, the page requested, the date and time, the browser's user-agent string, and the referring page if the browser sends one. These logs exist so the site can be kept running and secure — diagnosing errors, and identifying abuse such as automated scanning. They are not used to build a profile of you, and they are not sold, rented or shared for marketing.

Email you send us. If you write to us, we hold your message and your email address for as long as needed to deal with what you wrote about and to keep a record of the correspondence. We use it to reply to you. We do not add you to a mailing list on the strength of a message.

That is the complete list. There is nothing else.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies and uses no local storage. That is why you are not being asked to accept anything.

Who else sees it

Our web hosting provider necessarily processes the server logs described above, and our email provider necessarily processes email sent to us. Beyond those two, and beyond a legal obligation such as a court order, we do not disclose personal information to anyone.

Both providers operate outside British Columbia, so information handled through them may be stored or accessed in another country and be subject to that country's laws.

How long it is kept

Server logs are retained for no longer than 12 months and are then deleted. Email correspondence is kept while it is still relevant to the matter it concerns, and thereafter for as long as we are required to keep business records.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Access to logs and to our email is restricted to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise — which is a further reason this website collects as little as it does.

Children

This is a corporate website addressed to businesses and adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act, you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, and withdraw consent to our use of it. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version is published here with a new date. We do not make changes retroactive.
